1) First, find a suitable space in your home, in nature, by the water, or any other place where you can be alone and undisturbed.
2) Choose a time that works best for you – just before dawn, at sundown, just before going to bed, or in the middle of a busy day. Regularity helps, but please be gentle, patient, and understanding with yourself if you miss the appointed time or if you are late. Spirit is not confined to time and space the way we are and, frankly, too much is made of time.
3) As you approach the place and time, approach in silent reverence, as a conscious, devoted worshipper does when entering a holy temple. Sacred silence makes for a more gradual and easier transition from motion to stillness. Observe the rising of the sun at dawn – it emerges from the horizon of night slowly, gradually, gently, and respectfully. The sun does not appear all at once in an abrupt manner. For this reason I prefer to meditate upon awakening, when I awaken from a night of living, learning, and traveling in my dream life.

Here is a very simple passive meditation technique you can do. You don’t need more than 5 minutes of time…even 2 or 3 minutes will do as long as you are consistent. You can build up your time spent in meditation as you continue. In fact, this is sure to occur as you experience deeper levels of relaxation, joy, and the mysteries within your Being.
